We’re proud to announce the official rerelease of our 2019 indie drama, Bad Business — now streaming on Tubi, FawesomeTV, and Amazon Prime Video.
What started as a dream in a call center has become part of our studio’s legacy.
The Origin Story
Back in 2018, Bad Business was born in the imagination of Dom Campbell, who found inspiration after watching a Tyler Perry film while working at the DISH Network call center. Fueled by passion and a vision for authentic, relatable storytelling, Dom began writing the script that would later become Emperium’s first breakout production. (previously ShowRoom Studios)
Once the script was finished, Dom took to his hometown of Columbus, Ohio to find local talent and fund the project by driving for Uber, Lyft, and starting a GoFundMe. Every mile was a step toward bringing his first feature film to life.
Building a Vision from the Ground Up
The production came together with the support of Bryant Still, a.k.a. Chem Vision, who provided all the production gear that helped bring the vision to the screen. The film was shot over a weekend retreat in Hocking Hills, Ohio, and completed during the following week in Columbus.

Many of these talents would go on to appear in future Emperium Studios projects, making this a true starting point for rising stars.
From Premiere to Legacy
Bad Business had its theatrical debut at Gateway Film Center in February 2019, where it sold out opening night. The turnout was so strong, the theater requested an encore showing — which the team respectfully declined, choosing instead to fix errors and maintain the momentum toward self-distribution.
On April 20, 2019, Dom made the bold decision to release the film on DVD through his original company, ShowRoom Studios, which has since evolved into what we now know as Emperium Studios.
